I received this in the mail a while back (I painted over my information):
The other day, my cousin, who is going to college next fall, told me (over IM) that she was thinking about going to law school. My initial reaction was to try to talk her out of it (but I didn't). For me, law school was one of the most consuming (time and energy and money) experiences of my life, and I'm not sure she's up for it.
The bar exam process is not all that different. You're hoping that it's all going to work out, but constantly worrying. All the while there is all this material that you must get through. I suppose that one thing that you learn through this process is how to work under stress. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I notice that a lot lawyers tend to be procrastinators. Maybe that is because they are so used to the stress that being a bit late simply does not bother them any more.
Anyways, the job is going okay. I'm on several different matters and learning some stuff (mostly by watching the the process in action). The law is a largely static body of knowledge so I'm not worried about learning everything as quickly as I can. Once you learn everything, the fun is over. Or may that's when the fun begins. One of the two.
So this is going to be my last post. I know that the summer Barbri classes are going to begin soon. I hope some of you summer 2008 takers will find this blog. I hope what I wrote will help / entertain you. If you're planning to blog through the summer, leave a comment with a link and I will check it out. Good luck to you and to all the Feb takers on their results!

Oh, yes. I will be blogging every single moment of the preparation. Or maybe not. Maybe I will be out exercising and bungy-jumping and all the crazy things I never thought I would do.
Do you really mean it? That this is your last post? I am really hoping it is a cliffhanger.
Yes I'm serious.
:( :( :( What am I supposed to do if I feel compelled to check your blawg every five minutes for updates for the next three months?
Every time you get the urge to check here, you should do an MBE question.
What if:
1) I run out of MBE questions???
2) I want to regain a moment of sanity by NOT doing any bar related stuff?
And btw, is that all you are eating for meals? Tortilla chips and...jalepenos?
You will never run out of MBEs. Seriously though, if you want to take a break, try to get some sun. But don't study by the pool.
I'd be happy if I do finish the MBE's. Right now it's difficult just trying to stay motivated to survive the final exams. Btw, does your old e-mail still work?
Yes.
Uh...sent an experimental message. Did it go through? One bounced back.
And yes, still waist deep in exam...studying.
Replied.
Noooo...I am so sad you won't be blogging anymore. Anyway, thanks for the advice. Given that I like to procrastinate I will probably blog during the bar process. Good luck with everything!
Btw, I do have one more question. Do you think I should do pmbr 6 day or should I just put that money toward a tutor?
I didn't use either so my opinion is you don't need either. But if I had to choose one I'd choose the tutor because I was not good on the essays.
Hey, thanks for coming by my site and commenting. So you're done? That's too bad! If you start up again, let me know..we can trade bar exam war stories!
Cool.
